Divorce Document Preparation

Divorce Document Preparation
for the Bay Area

ClearPath prepares client-selected divorce and family law documents for self-represented individuals throughout the Bay Area, from an initial petition through separately scoped judgment-stage paperwork.

California divorce paperwork moves through distinct stages. An opening petition is a different scope from a response, default request, disclosure, Request for Order, or final judgment packet. We prepare the forms selected by you or your attorney and organize the identified attachments for review.

We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice. We cannot recommend forms, advise you on strategy, or tell you what to ask for. We prepare the selected paperwork from your facts and instructions for your review.

You tell us which stage you're at and what you want your documents to say. We prepare the forms exactly as you direct — we don't choose forms or strategy for you.

02

We prepare the packet

We complete the selected forms using your facts and instructions, identify missing supplied information, and organize the packet for your review.

You review and sign the completed documents. Filing support may be added after scope confirmation; court processing and acceptance remain outside our control.

Important Context

Key Considerations

Petition is not the whole case

Opening and judgment paperwork are separate scopes. Filing a petition does not automatically finalize your case.

Disputes need advice

Consult an attorney for custody, support, property, settlement, or strategy questions before directing us to prepare forms.

See all FAQs →

What divorce documents can ClearPath prepare?

At your direction, ClearPath can prepare petition or response packets, Request to Enter Default documents, judgment forms, Request for Order packets, fee-waiver forms, and simple post-filing notices. The exact forms depend on the instructions you provide.

How is a divorce petition different from the full uncontested package?

A petition package covers opening court forms. The full uncontested package covers a broader agreed or default matter through judgment-stage paperwork within the confirmed scope. The $699 petition price is not the $1,895 full uncontested package.

Can ClearPath choose forms or tell me what to request?

No. You or your attorney must select the forms and requested terms. ClearPath is not a law firm and cannot evaluate rights, give legal advice, or recommend strategy.

How long does divorce document preparation take?

Timing depends on package scope, complete information and attachments, and revisions. Court processing, service, response periods, and judicial review are separate and outside ClearPath's control; no completion date or outcome is guaranteed.

Can you prepare documents involving children or property?

Yes, from the terms and information you supply. ClearPath does not decide custody terms, characterize property, provide support advice, or resolve disagreements.

Can ClearPath file or serve my divorce papers?

Filing support may be added after scope confirmation. Court fees, process-server charges, and other third-party costs are separate. ClearPath does not appear in court or represent you.

What should I gather before preparation starts?

Common inputs include existing case documents, party and child information, addresses, marriage and separation dates, and the terms or orders you direct us to enter. The required inputs vary by the selected packet.

When should I speak with a family-law attorney?

Seek an attorney when you need advice about rights, disputes, custody, support, property, disclosures, settlement terms, deadlines, or strategy. ClearPath cannot guarantee court acceptance or results.

ClearPath is not a law firm.

ClearPath is a California Legal Document Assistant. We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice, legal opinions, recommend legal strategy, or select forms on your behalf. All documents are prepared at your specific direction. Court filing fees and government costs are quoted and billed separately at cost. If you need legal advice, you should consult a licensed attorney.
