Last updated: September 18, 2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the cplda.com website and the document-preparation services provided by ClearPath Legal Document Assistant (“ClearPath,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
Questions about LDA contracts, cancellation and consumer protections?
Who We Are
ClearPath provides California Legal Document Assistant (LDA) services. We are not attorneys and we are not a law firm. We prepare legal documents at your specific direction. We do not provide legal advice, legal opinions, recommend legal strategy, or select forms for you. If you need legal advice, you should consult a licensed attorney. Current business-specific registration and bond details must be verified from owner records and the appropriate county filing office.
Scope of Our Services
We type and prepare documents based solely on the information and instructions you provide. You are responsible for deciding what you want to file, for the accuracy of the information you give us, and for reviewing every document before it is signed or submitted. We cannot tell you which forms to use or how your matter should proceed.
Quotes, Fees & Filing Costs
We provide flat-rate quotes for our preparation services before we begin work. Our service fee is separate from government and court filing fees, which are set by the court or agency and billed to you at cost. We will identify expected filing fees where we can, but final amounts are determined by the court or agency, not by ClearPath.
Written Contract & Consumer Rights
These website terms are not the written services contract required before services under California Business and Professions Code section 6410. The engagement must identify the work and costs and include the required disclosures. Statutory cancellation, rescission, refund, original-document return, and other consumer rights are not limited by these website terms or our business policies.

Your Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information.
- Review all prepared documents carefully before signing or filing.
- Make your own decisions about your legal matter.
- Meet any deadlines that apply to your matter — we do not provide legal deadline advice.
No Attorney-Client Relationship
Using our website or services does not create an attorney-client relationship, because we are not attorneys. Nothing on this website or in our communications is legal advice.
Intellectual Property
The content, design, and branding on cplda.com are owned by ClearPath and protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse our website content without our written permission.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClearPath is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website or services. Because we prepare documents at your direction and do not provide legal advice, you are responsible for the legal sufficiency and outcome of your matter. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the service at issue.
This limitation applies only to the extent legally enforceable. It does not restrict statutory remedies or recovery against a bond or cash deposit where available under Business and Professions Code section 6412. It does not waive statutory refunds or excuse our own failure to meet obligations imposed by law.

Third-Party Links
Our website may link to third-party sites, such as court or government resources. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by California law. Under Business and Professions Code section 6409.1, venue for an action arising out of a dispute between an LDA or unlawful detainer assistant and their client is the county in which the client has their primary residence. These website terms do not select a different venue for such an action.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of our website or services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
